ROSARY MAKERS GUIDE

Dear Rosary Maker Friends:

I am trying to fill an order for a habit rosary that requires a medal of St. Alexius which will be attached as a drop to one end of the rosary. However, St. Alexius seems to be quite elusive and I am unable to find an appropriate medal to complete this order. The only one I found was a solid gold medal which is not suitable at all. Does anyone have any resources for hard-to-find religious medals? If the medal cannot be found the rosary will have to ship without it, but I would like to be able to provide my customer with what they have requested if at all possible. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

I would also like to ask if anyone has any experience cleaning and restoring vintage religious medals. I tend to have many vintage medals given to me for my rosaries, and some are in need of restoration work. I don't know if this is possible to do, so again, any assistance you could provide would be most welcome.

    We did quite an extensive online search, but we were unable to locate a medal of St. Alexius. We did however find a lovely icon for sale on ebay...if you'd like to have a look.

    Merhaut, Inc. has quite an extensive collection of medals for future reference. But no St. Alexius. :  (

    Restoration work, such as replacing loops, polishing edges, etc. can be done by any reputable jewelry repair. Refer to our Care & Cleaning page for suggestions to clean vintage medals.
